Like Wild Blue Indigo, this plant is a nitrogen fixer. However, it is shorter and blooms later. This Baptisia species is native to our area and can be found in dry meadows and openings. It is a host plant for the Clouded Sulphur butterfly and Wild Indigo Duskywing skipper.
