Prairie Smoke is rare in New York State but found natively in the Jamestown area. It is a wonderful ground cover with beautiful foliage, tear drop shaped flowers and an amazing pink, feathery seed head. I love to use it as a ground cover in my sandy soil patches and performs really well in rock gardens as well.
