This is an easy to establish locally native flower that can brighten up the deepest shade. It is very tall especially for a woodland plant, and is a nice companion to Sweet Joe Pye. You can chelsea chop this plant in late May, early June for a shorter bloom height. Rudbeckia laciniata spreads via rhizome and thus may not be suitable for a small garden bed.
