Solidago bicolor, or White Goldenrod/Silverrod attracts birds through its abundant seeds, which become a vital winter food source for small songbirds like American Goldfinches, Juncos, Sparrows, Chickadees, Titmice, and even Downy Woodpeckers. It offers late-season nourishment and cover. The flowers also draw a multitude of late pollinators. It is very drought and salt tolerant – a tough plant with lots of ecosystem benefit.
