Golden Alexanders are a must-have in the garden. As part of the carrot family they are a larval host to Black Swallowtail Caterpillars and attract several short tongued insects due to their short, accessible flowers. They have a long bloom time, beginning nice and early in April. An excellent companion plant is Eastern Red Columbine.
